Paper-like signage that uses power only 

when it updates

E-Ink / e-Paper is bi-stable it consumes power only during updates and holds 

the image without power afterward. Ideal for clear, 

always-on static information signage.

E-Ink creates images 

by moving ink particles

E-Ink uses electrophoretic microcapsules—black 
and white charged particles move under an electric field to form pixels.
 

Unlike LCDs, it does not need continuous backlighting, 
so static images can remain with minimal power.
